The Rector is a managing body of the University. The Rector represents and promotes the University in the country and abroad, conducts the international cooperation of the University and initiates cooperation with other Universities in the country and abroad.

The Rector gives proposals about the internal organization of the University, manages its property and takes care of its maintenance. 
The Rector, within the framework of managing with the University, coordinates the higher-educational activities, scientific-research activities, artistic and applied activities of the University.

The Rector calls meetings of the Senate and Rector’s Administration and presides over them. He promotes PhDs and presents University awards to honored persons.

The Rector is obliged to submit report for his work and the work of the University to the Senate and its founder at least once a year. The Rector is responsible for the legitimacy and the statutory issues of the University and its units.
