First enrollment date: Anticipated fair interest in UGD
The preliminary results from the first enrollment date of University Goce Delcev have shown fair interest by the prospective students. According to the information given by the Vice-rector professor d-r Mishko Djidrov, the number of enrolled students is similar to the last year’s, and it is around 1100 candidates for the 12 faculties and 3 academies, which UGD is comprised of.
-The electronic application system for enrollment has been open since July 1st. The period from August 28th to September 1st was designated for documents submission. After this, the candidates’ applications have been ranked, and we expect the admission lists to be announced today. The next phase is the enrollment of the admitted candidates. The prospective students will receive instructions on how to complete the enrollment process online. Our electronic system has been developed to provide the option for online enrollment, which means that the tuition fees, subscriptions and other faculty expenses can be made online, thus avoiding the inconveniency of making payments through bank or post services. In view of the current situation, we considered that our future students should be offered a safe and convenient way to apply for studying at UGD - states the Pro-rector for teaching professor d-r Mishko Djidrov.
The application process has revealed that the gratest interest is in the field of Medical sciences, where the state quota is filled in the first enrollment date, however, there are available places in the co-financing quota. The Technical sciences also have a constant interest for studying, as well as Computer sciences, Law studies and Economics. There are available places for the second enrollment date, which will take place in the middle of September, but the candidates can apply at any time as the electronic application system is continuously open.
This year the situation for the international students is more delicate because of the current pandemic situation. Nevertheless, there is constant interest by international applicants for UGD.
-The international students who were studying Macedonian last academic year as a prerequisite to apply at some of the faculties and academies of UGD are kept in the loop, so that when travelling conditions allow, they will be able to continue the foundation year as expected. Current international students have the possibility to follow the instruction online, as well as take online exams – explains pro-rector Djidrov.
This year, we have increased the number of scholarships for the forthcoming students, which means that about 210 applicants with the top high school results will receive tuition-free scholarships.
