(VIDEO) The Eighth International Conference entitled "Social changes in the global world"

The Faculty of Law within the University Goce Delcev - Shtip, has held the eighth International Scientific Conference entitled "Social changes in the global world".

For the second year in a row, the conference is held online, due to the Covid pandemic, and this situation, in addition to the way it is held - online, is also reflected in the papers that are presented. They are mostly related to the influence of the Covid pandemic on the judiciary, media, politics, humanities. The Minister of Justice, Bojan Maricic, also participated in the conference.

Assoc.prof. Milica Shutova, member of the Organizing Committee of the Faculty of Law, emphasized that this year the current situation required special effort to organize the conference in the best order in terms of the measures and protocols for protecting the citizens' health, due to which the online conference was the only option.

- The conference is being held in three languages ​​- Macedonian, English and Russian. There will be five panels, one legal session, multidisciplinary sessions in Macedonian and English language, a session for young researchers and a session in Russian in the field of politics and law. The papers presented are in the field of law, politics, humanities, media, communications... From year to year the number of participants increases and this year we had about 90 participants from Macedonia, The Russian Federation, Serbia, Croatia, Latvia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Turkey and Albania. The purpose of the conference is to determine the legal consequences that exist in the legal framework, which are being applied in Macedonia and to give suggestions about  how to further improve the legal solutions that in practice cause some consequences. We have interesting topics related to Covid-19, the consequences arising from the labor relations, and the Minister of Justice Bojan Maricic will speak about the digitalization of the judiciary, which is a current topic due to the Covid pandemic - said Assoc. prof. Milica Shutova.

The Dean of the Faculty of Law Olga Koshevaliska, PhD pointed out that for the second year in a row the conference is online, and what is satisfying is that this time the one-year experience of how the pandemic affects many areas - law, politics and media and the papers presented are practically the result of the real situation from the period behind us.

The Minister of Justice Bojan Maricic stated that these are important topics and the Ministry and the Government want to get involved in the discussion and get input, opinion from the academic community:

We want to hear your opinions, and of course to present the digitalization of the judiciary, because we consider it an important element not only to overcome the consequences of the pandemic and their impact on the speed of proceedings, efficiency of the judiciary, the protection of human rights, but also as a process that should increase the accountability, transparency and accountability of the judiciary, which we consider to be the primary task of the judicial system and the Government.

The Minister Maricic has met the Rector of UGD, Blazo Boev,PhD where the possibilities for cooperation were considered. The Ministry is already open for practical work in secondary law schools, and it is working on the need for students to gain concrete experience and prepare for working in the system. Maricic and Boev announced that in the forthcoming period they will work to concretize the cooperation between the Ministry of Justice and the University "Goce Delcev".
